  • Convant on 1850 property

I am sorry this may have come up before elsewhere but I was unable in locate it.
I have recently bought a lovely cottage built in the 1850’s. I have found on the deeds a covenant about the front of the property not being able to be changed as the manor house looks onto the property. However as time has gone by there is four streets worth of houses and a very large detached property in-between my property and the manor now. It is also a conservation area.

My question is about upgrading the property’s windows. They are single pane sash windows that let in the most awful draft and have little to no noise cancellation ability.

Is there anything that can be done?
