  • Transfer of property to mothers name

    Dear all,

    Hope you are well.

Currently trying to arrange the estate of my father who is terminally ill.

I am trying to have his home transferred to my mothers name, it is mortgage free.

How would i go about doing this and what are the implications?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

Re: Transfer of property to mothers name

    Hi Sam,
Sorry to hear about your father's ill health.
I can't give a definite answer so this is only my assumption, but with something like this I'd have thought a solicitor would be the best point of call. The solicitor would likely therefore deal with both the transfer of names on the mortgage, as well as dealing with the land registry of the property, as well as doing whatever checks they would normally do.
