  • Is freehold being passed on illegally?

We feel that our landlord is running our building badly and that there are many serious issues with it.

    Two legal issues quickly:

    1) The freeholder is a shadowy company which keeps changing directors. We have the sense that the company is a front for people selling the freehold on whilst retaining the same nominal landlord (i.e. the company) thereby bypassing their obligation to offer the freeholder to leaseholders.

    2) The landlord/company dissolved a few years ago but then set up again on the same day with the same name but a different company number.

Two questions - 1) is there anything we can do to prove that the freehold is actually changing hands?

    2) When the company dissolved should leaseholders have been told and offered the freehold?

Any help at all would be really, really appreciated!

    Many thanks!
