  • Neighbours water pipe runs under our house.

    Can any one help please?
Just bought a house and we're doing renovations and an extention with planning permission. The neighbour tried very hard to block it and has threatened to sue us and the council for granting it. She actually threatens to sue on a regular basis for nonsense. We have just found that the neighbours lead pipe mains water pipe is running under our house. We told her she can redirect it if she likes as soon as possible but she isn't doing anything and is delaying our renovation works as we need to lay our floor but she is now wanting us to pay to move her pipe and claims that if we continue with our internal works it is breaching her rights over her pipe.
What is the legal position with regards to her moving her pipe and can she continue to threaten us with court if we continue with our works. We have a contract with the builder and delay could cost us thousands of pounds.
    Thank you for you help.
