  • Insurance for loft room with no completion certificate

We are interested in a property with a loft conversion which is currently being used as a bedroom. The conversion has retrospective planning but no building control/completion certificate.

Would we be able to get buildings/home insurance for the property which covered this room? Say if a claim had to be made and the problem eminated from this conversion would the insurance company still pay out in the absence of the completion certificate?
