  • Buying a stake

Any advice on buying a stake in a house without being on the mortgage agreement? Basically, I want to invest in a property for my daughter. She will need to take out a mortgage. I am not gifting the money - it is a loan that will help her put a decent deposit down and hopefully in future years she will be able to have a bigger mortgage and pay back my initial investment. What's the best way to go about this? Hope you can help.

You really need to speak to an accountant about this, because transferring any money to your daughter carries a tax-risk.

Okay. Thanks, Brian. I'll look into it officially.
