  • Freeholder dragging his feet over freehold name change

I am in the process of selling my leasehold flat, which is in a block of three flats. The freehold of the building is owned by the ground floor flat. Within the sales process it has come to light that the freehold is still in the name of a man (KR) who died in 2016. The sale cannot complete until KR’s son changes the name on the freehold (KR left everything to his son). The son states he will do this but not until he is ready to sell KR’s flat. Given that he has not got round to this in nearly 4 years since KR’s death I am concerned when this might be. My solicitor has not been helpful. Please can you offer any advice about how I might be able to resolve the situation?
    Many Thanks.
