  • Buyer (we) are asked to pay for seller's conveyancing solicitor fee

    hi everyone,

We bought a new build flat which will be ready next year. Contract of the flat purchase has already been exchanged.

We are now thinking of adding a car park but we are asked to pay for seller's solicitor conveyancing fee. Seller's rationale is that purchase request came from us so fees associated with contract change (car park purchase Supplemental Agreement) will be on buyer. It does not make sense to me but seller insist this is industry standard.

So guys would need your help to understand how this normally work out. Is it true that industry standard is for the buyer to pay for seller's conveyancing solicitor fee (of amending main flat purchaser contract) when adding a new car park purchase?

thanks very much for your help!

    regards
Working...
