  • Legal Advice - Partner removed my name from property without my knowledge

Please can you give me some advice.

I purchased a property with my partner in 2008,
and my name was on the first set of contracts for the property we was buying, however my partner had new contracts made up with my name removed just before we moved into our new property it has only just come to light that my name wasn't on the final contracts for the property my partner never had the decency to tell me what he had done.

I paid the deposit for the property and have also paid for most of the items in the property plus paid for work that we had done.

My name isn't on the mortgage but my partner pays the mortgage.

Is there anything legally that can be done as my partner had my name removed without my knowledge?

    Many Thanks

If both of you instructed solicitors to act for you in the purchase the solicitors should have checked with you that you were happy to proceed without your name being on the documents. There may have been a reason for this. Was the mortgage offer in joint names or just one?

As a conveyancing solicitor I want to be helpful (England/Wales only) but can't accept liability for this.
