  • House on market one week and no viewings

We put the house on the market a week ago and have had no viewings so far, is this normal? We have the floor plans and epc on Tuesday so was going to wait til after then and start chasing the estate agent. I think all the photos etc look good and I don't think it's priced too high so am a bit confused as to why there's been no interest so far.

Same area as we are in now, near Manchester. Still no viewings after 2.5 weeks...

        Debbi,

Have a word with your estate agent and ask them what the level of interest (if any) has been.

How many people are viewing the property on the portals etc.

We've had the right move report and activity seems OK and around the average for the branch. I've asked them to send me a other one in 2 weeks as we have just reduced the price

            Hi Debbie,

Hopefully not only do you now have viewings but you also have an offer!

Careful on reducing price, make sure the agent has done everything they should, are the pictures great not just okay. Are you on more than 1 portal not just Rightmove, Have they called it out to their database, have they held an open day.

Its easy for an agent to blame the price, sometimes they are just not working hard enough for you.

            Good luck in your sale!

May be you should reduce the price?

Re: House on market one week and no viewings

If you give us the listing on rightmove, it might be possible for folks to make some constructive feedback - eg: rooms look a bit cluttered or re-take main photo without bins and car n view etc etc. Even the professional get it wrong from time to time and sometimes it is easier for a third party to think "Oooh, that looks a bit odd".

As Jack & Jones said, be careful with price reductions unless you know you were "on the high side" to begin with. Have you found out what other similar houses in the area have been going for?

Re: House on market one week and no viewings

It depends on your area marketing value, if it's too high then you probably make the listing feature or if you have already chosen a particular real estate agent then think again by reviewing the best company to put your listing with.

Good things take time. Don't rush it, if it is not absolutely needed.
