  • Selling home. Why don't agents advertise as help to buy available?

    Hi.
There are many new build homes being erected near to me and all advertise Help to Buy as being available. Now, if you compare two homes, one new, one 11 years old and both advertised at the same price then, clearly, the new home has massive advantages in terms of the immediate loan required. I.e. If you subtract the 20% Help to Buy contribution then the new home is clearly more "affordable".

My question is this and no estate agent, including my present one, has been able to answer it. "Why don't estate agents advertise used homes as being available using the Help to Buy scheme?

    Puzzled!
