I am a disabled lady, never worked, having problems selling bungalow on coast.up till 10 yrs ago ,i was living abroad.I bought this property on my return.
my mortgage advisor told me that as i dont work,my income all benefits,i can only get interest free mortgage.
I put it on the market last yr.had an offer, and people were asking about savings?I was never told anything about savings, nor that i could remortgage.I have now had 2 offers in 18 months, been let down because the buyers could not sell there property.
i am hopeing to move to Scotland.that is fraught with difficulties. Some of my benefits will be taken into account, but not all.i am registered with Lift housing, they are able to put 40% toward a mortgage,if i can get a mortgage.
i have tried private renting. They wont accept housing benefit and dogs.So i am really stuck.

You could register yourself as a refugee or change your name to Patel, either should help. Alternatively your only chances are to find a housing association, or sell your property. All properties will sell quickly, but not always at the price you want. Having just purchased a bungalow, I now how hard it is to buy a good one. Most have 30 year old kitchens and bathrooms. Most have flowered wallpaper and red carpets. Modernised bungalows are rare, but when they have had money spent on them they sell quickly. Look on rightmove at all the competition in the area, and make sure you are the cheapest. Alternatively spend some money on it, and see it as an investment.
