  • things to relocate

besides some furniture which when removed will make the space larger, what other things do you advise to be relocated while showing your home to potential buyers?

keep furniture to a minimum I would say, keep toys and personal items out of the way.

Yep - tidy is important. Remove anything you can to a garage that would otherwise be left cluttering up rooms. And then it's also packed ready for moving.

Uncluttering is the real key. What we consider some of our best decoration in a house can often really put off a potentianl buyer.
Put the smaller items away or pack them up!

We have rented a storage space just to get the furniture out of the house so it looks bigger. It is amazing how much of a difference it makes. I put all my clutter away too, so everything is clean and neat. It is good to make people feel welcomed with a sweet home but don't take "cozy" too far.

Good advice, Duck ....what's homey and comfortable for us may be off putting to a potential buyer.

Have to remenber that people can not often picture their own furniture in a place so an empty room can confuse them. I tend to leave main furniture pieces in a room and have even bought beds just to dress empty bedrooms. It seems to have worked so far.

Ok, thanks on all the tips. I do agree that having a tidy place is a place to go when you want a sale.
