Can you get a mortgage on a property that will be inhabited by your family (mother and sister) whilst you live at a property that does not belong to you?

    Thanks

    Yes,
It will probably be viewed as a buy-to-let and have the same application criteria.
I presume you want to take advantage (profit) from the "Right to Buy" discounts?

      Re: Help needed

Rather complicated I live with my partner in her mortgage free house, and want to help my sister buy a house for her and my mum, not "right to buy" The mortgage would be joint with my sister so technically not buy to let as no rent will be paid, my half is an investment for my son.

You need to see a mortgage broker.
