I am moving to a house of equivalent value, do I need a deposit if I'm staying with my mortgage provider.

You need to speak to your mortgage provider. Many mortgages are portable, which means that you can move it from one property to another with no penalties. Now, to me, if the sale of your house is the same as the purchase price of your new house, then effectively, you have nothing to lose as I see... however, you will still be liable for any legal fees.

I am not a financial advisor or anything like that... just saying how I see it. Speak to your advisor. That is what they are paid for.

Is it your mortgage portable? if it is, it shouldn't be a problem
