    Hello

I am currently living in rented accomodation that was once owned by my mum. She sold the house in 2006 to a rent back company and they sold it on to a private landlord within a month even though she had a 2 year tenancy agreement. Anyway the landlord has been pushing us to buy the house since 2007 as he wants to sell, the thing is I am having difficulty raising the desposit for the mortgage. Does anyone know if there are many optionsopen to us? I have a ccj due to come off my file and one default, this whole episdode is putting me under stress especially as the landlord calls once a week to see how things areprogressing. It would be easy to walk away but my mum loves this house. Thank you

    Hi Linda,

Have you looke dinto the government first time buyer help schemes. I am not an expert with them but their one particular scheme, for which if you qualify, they will grant an equity share.

Most lenders will accept this as a deposit and you will then hopefully be able to apply for a mortgage.

How long before your CCJ disappears and when did the default occur?

Hi, thanks for your reply, the CCJ was placed on my file in error along with the default, the CCJ is coming off within a month and I am trying to remove the default too, hopefully within a month also. Are the government schemes available in Northern Ireland?
