    There are many benefits in retaining ones mortgage - especially if its repayment type - for longer fixed periods 10 yrs plus.

    My own parents took out a 25 year fixed rate in 1956 through the local council would you believe - at 3.85% HOW SENSIBLE WAS THAT eh!
