  • Estate Agents Offer Procedure

I viewed a property yesterday afternoon, and called the agent this morning to make an offer, only to be told an offer was agreed with another party late yesterday. I understand that having already viewed the property I am at liberty to make a subsequent offer, but what miffs me is that the agent made no attempt to contact me to advise that there had been an offer on the property I viewed, i.e. no attempt to ascertain my interest before tying up a deal.

My question is, is this standard procedure for the agent, is there no onus on them to contact other viewers before tying up the deal?
