We bought the property in 2010 when the neighbours were carrying out a single storey rear extension. We were surprised to see the huge extension at the back which blocks the light to our conservatory.

I have now asked for the drawings of the approval from the council and the document gives a planning of 3.6mtrs depth and 3.7mtrs height. The actual measurement (which I have taken) is 4 mtrs depth and 4mts height.

Does this fall within the boundaries of acceptability? I am looking at options we have. Can anyone advise please giving us an idea of costs if we were to pursue this. What decisions can be expected if this was followed up. Is it worth getting them measured by the actual builder just to ensure that I have not made an error in measurements?
