Just would like some advise on buying a house ? My father who is a pensioner wants to loan me the money so I can buy my first house , all he wants is it back in monthly sums , Now the problem is with the conveyancing I know if you are gifted or have savings you have to prove where the money came from and how it was saved , but as this is a loan will my father have to prove where he got the money from to give me this loan . I'm basically asking this because he is a pensioner and has been retired for many years and it would be very hard for him to prove and I don't want to put to much on him , He can get a bank statement showing the loan money in his account and the agreement of the loan that we will be setting up .

I can't believe the number of posts here with no replies!

This just an 'anti money laundering' check. In my experience you don't usually have to provide backup documents etc. Just say where the money came from, savings, pension lump sum, house sale, salary, inheritance etc (all and/or). This will probably be all they need.

This is probably all in the past anyway, as your post was a year ago!!!!!!
