  • Asking Price Given - What to do to win a property

We have viewed a property before it was posted on the website of the estate agent. Liked it, discussed and gave the asking price. The sales agent said that the vendors still want to put on the market, so we waited. The result was that we did not win the house as they liked other buyers. We have increased the offer and they have still declined. We are second time buyers (rent - to - buy) with excellent credit history. The only option I can think of is that the winning buyer is paying outright and not with a mortgage. We were not given any details. The area we are looking to buy is very traditional and we are not born English. Does it matter as when you sell your property how do you like buyers when you receive your money? In what grade is this dependant on the estate agent and how can you positively influence them? Any tips?

Can you advise how to win as very often they do not consider the highest offer. We are very confused. Done everything our mortgage advisor told us to do and nothing. Any advice is very welcome.

we had the same situation, we offered the full asking price last August & it was accepted, expected to finally exchange contracts within the next couple of weeks, when out of the blue, on the 27/12/15 they wanted more money, we thanked them for being complete time wasters & walked away
