  • Renovating a Leasehold property

    Hi there,

We are interested in buying a 2 bed property leasehold and splitting it into two one bedroom flats that could be sold separately at a later date and thus would have separate leasehold agreements with the freeholder.

We assume the next step will be to contact the freeholder but have heard that obtaining permission can take some time and have also heard that it might be a matter of paying a sum to the freeholder.

Does anyone have any experience in doing something similar to this?
