  • next door flat council

    Hi,
I am in a process of buying a flat.
Today I went to see it for the second time and I have realized that the house next door is a council one.
    My questions are:
    - do you know if there is a website where I can check whether the property next door is a council house?
    - Could I check the status of the property over the past years (if the people living in have criminal records etc?)
Their garden is very badly kept with some rubbish in it; I do like the flat but I am a bit scared to proceed now…
    Thanks for your comments.

    Re: next door flat council

I am wondering what made you suddenly 'realise' that the house nextdoor is Council owned. I think the local council will probably tell you if you phone and ask them.

Even if it is, what on earth makes you think that the occupants might have a criminal record? Having rubbish in your garden doesn't make you a mugger, burglar, drug dealer or anything else for that matter.

I personally think that if you're that concerned/paranoid, you probably should be looking in a much more affluent/council house free area!
