Sounds odd. I think you need to speak to the surveyor if you can. He should be able to tell you why he couldn't do the homebuyers survey.

    Survey Query

    Hi Forum
I hope someone may be able to answer.
I have paid for a Homebuyers Report /survey to be done on a property that was built around 1952, its ex council. I had a call this morning from the surveyors administrator stating that the surveyor was in the loft space of the house and rang to tell them that he will only be carrying out the valuation survey and not the homebuyers. I asked why this was and was told that he may not be able to get answers for a homebuyers report and that a valuation would be enough. But I was told that to get any real answers to any queries I would have to get a building survey done. But I was assured that a valuation was deemed enough and any problems would be put in the results of the valuation. The administrator couldn't tell me anymore. I am so worried. I know there are some things that need to be done on the house but I'm afraid of the outcome. Can anyone think of why a surveyors company would stop at a valuation survey and re-imburse me what I have paid for the Home Buyers Report. I'm worried sick as I really like the house I've put an offer on.

    Many thanks
    Mazz
