  • Houses in need of renovation or modernisation

I keep surfing the internet trying to find properties in the London area which require renovation or modernisation but what you get are sites which just advert all other properties but these ones.

Is anyone out there who know of sites which specializes or at least advertise these type of properties

I don't actually know of any. I guess you would just have to enquire around.

My instinct would be to pick a tight target area, say Wimbledon (London as a whole is too wide a search) , and google with search terms including 'house for sale area' plus words like need, refurbishment, modernisation ... so

      house for sale wimbledon modernisation
homes for sale wimbledon need refurbishment
      for sale wimbledon refurbishment

and variations thereof. I tried it for my home county, and a good selection of suitable properties popped up in the first page of search results. 9 times out of 10 the magic phrase 'in need of refurbishment' appears in the little abstract that google pulls from the web page.

Try subscribing to the Capital Property List.

A listings company that charge for access to their list.
I think they simply ask all agents to include such properties in their list. £10-£15 per month.

        Also try GetAnOffer UK
A portal for desperate housesellers. I've seen a few potential refurbs on there but havn't bought anything yet.

Other than that, try London auction co's Allsop, Savills, barnard marcus and of course call into all the agents.

        Good luck!
