You start by thinking of it as a business. That means having the money to invest, a serious plan of action, and experience in what you are planning to do.

How many of these do you have under your belt?

      Matt,
First of all you ignore people who try to put you off, everyone has to start somewhere, and nobody has 'experience' without going for it. Do your desk research for starters. There are options available to you, even if you have a lower level of funding available, including via routes such as property investment clubs, whereby you can actually get to know people with similar investment aims. You don't say where you are, but there's likely to be plenty of people in your wider area with similar interests, and you can link up with them if you are focused and research.

      Best of luck,
      John

You will need money to start with.
No partner would stomp up cash for you in a partnership without you matching it.
Get rich property "investiments" will always hurt the greedy and naive.

Brian is right. My advice is go work for one for 10 years and get to know the business first!

          Alright Thanks,

10 years is a long time. I' m sure there will be other young developers out there. who are in the same position like me. There is always a starting point.

          Thanks anyway.

One more thing, do you know of any property investment club?

              Thanks

You do not need a property developer partner unless you intend to build them yourself - why not start slowly and buy properties under book value that need refurbishing - then plough your profits into bigger projects as you accumulate profits on each project.

Some good mortgage advice would go along way

                  Sounds so easy doesn't it?
It is a wonder why everyone in the country isn't doing this.
Borrowing the money will be the least of your problems if you don't know what you are doing!
