    Re: Our first spam!

Forum spammers should try not to spam forums owned by a SEO company.

Yes I would agree that it does tend to show that there are new people join forums and that people are starting to engage with the forum and its visitors.

I know from my forum how annoying spammers can be.
They dont find you through google searches they are automatic robot programs. It is nothing to celibrate!

Google serps rankings and page rank are.

I think it is a bit ironic though that when you've been spammed that means the site has made it! Congratulations! hehe

The only way to get around spammers is to have an active moderator base.

I've run a forum before and it can be pretty bad sometimes, I usually just close off guests etc, they could at least learn to spell before they advertise

Its crazy to think that these people make their living posting on message boards whilst the rest of us do it unpaid!

It's a nightmare as, in my experience, a lot of spammers simply register on multiple forums as they get a backlink to their website in the members list.

Some forums have like 20000 members, but only 20 of them are active posters..

    It's crazy.

I doubt if there is anywhere you can go to get away from spammers. Unfortunately.

I don't know. I frequent a number of forums, and the ones that get me are all the spammers trying to sell you viagra or some other kind of medicine.

However, you have to take the bad with the good, and if getting a few more spammers is the price you have to pay for a successful forum, I guess it could be worse.
