  • Issue with survey 1 year in

Hi guys, new here and not sure where to post this topic.

In short - my wife and I have had our house a little under a year. In the survey, the felt inside the roof was marked as a 2, so might need replacing but is adequate. Anyway, having a look at the felt it definitely needs replacing, it is ripped in many areas and we can see the tiles through the holes. Within the year of having the house, we have had a burst pipe/leak in the attic which ruined our house and was with the insurance for around 3 or 4 months before they paid out. We've also got married and so we were busy planning the wedding and honeymoons etc. We did initially see the damage in the attic but as we had many other things to plan and do including renovating after the leak, we never got round to doing much. We are however now looking at replacing the felt as it is getting colder. My question is, can we go back to the solicitors as we felt the survey was wrong or have we left it too long?
