Anyone have anything to say about the budget? Here's a link to a video, take a look if you want to see a news reporter give the chancellor a hard time.

Labour's new mantra: "Optimism, optimism, optimism".

They haven't predicted the state of the downturn correctly at all, yet - despite this, Darling still tries to spin an optimistic outlook. When this turns sour, he'll blame "deteriorating world conditions" as if it was all to do with events outside of the UK - rather than poor planning within.

If the 'loans' to the banks are really loans, then why are we having to cover that?

Also, 50% tax on income over 150K? WTF??? This gov want to encourage entrepreneurship but then kill that by taxing heavily. It will get to the point soon where it isn't worth trying to become financially independent. You work your ass off to give Mr Darling a massive chunk.

That tax should have been aimed at the people that caused the current crisis. Penalise the city boys on their bonuses. Do it as a windfall tax. I say 70% tax on bonuses over 200K (200K in any one year).

I agree with both of you. It seems Brown is on his way out, his party seems to be dropping like flies around him.

Also a 50% tax is in a way putting two fingers up to all the entreprenuers in the country. Entrpreneurs are the people innovating, growing businesses and more importantly employing people.
