    You really need to speak to the accountant who submitted the UK tax return for you in order to clarify your position. There is the potential for double tax relief where you have suffered UK and foreign tax on the same sale, but the rules are complex, and I'm assuming they (accountants) will already have dealt with this for you.

    Hi,

    I've just found out that I can reclaim 20% of the tax I sold a spanish property for in 2005. I am unable to contact the agent I used back then (no surprise there) - Does anyone have any idea how I go ahead with this?
